Yucef Merhi's Interactive Multi-Lingual Installation Entitled WizArT

Can Be Interactively Experienced At [seven-degrees]
In Laguna Beach

Laguna Beach, CA ...Dec. 13th, 2001... New York Multi-Media artist Yucef Merhi, originally from Venezuela moved to New York two years ago to further develop his non-traditional technology based artistic ideas. Currently Merhi has multi-media exhibitions showing at The New Museum of Contemporary Art and the Postmedia Network both located in New York. Merhi also has two exhibits running in Venezuela at Ateneo de Valencia and Galeria Alternativa. Merhišs interactive exhibition of WizArT opens at [seven-degrees] December 13th at 6pm through January 20th, 2002.

The project WizArt started as a Bulletin Board System in 1994, focused to explore the relationship between the structured environment of the Net and the open territory of Art. The actual result of this project is an entity that is constantly upgrading. This work can be defined as a digital space devoted to show the potential between the cinematic experience and language. Merhi is currently an artist in residence in [seven-degrees] work/live studio 3. WizArt can be interactively experienced at [seven-degrees] in our technologically quipped media lounge during gallery hours or accessed online at www.wizart.org.

[seven-degrees] located in Laguna Beach is a multi-media art and event venue that defines experience. The 25,00 square-foot facility is located in the heart of the Laguna Beach Civic Art District on Laguna Canyon Road and is comprised of an exhibition gallery, four visiting artist work/live studios, a technologically-equipped media lounge and an outdoor terrace reception area.
